JDRF Australia video featuring Dr Jeremy Robertson, a type 1 pilot

Inspiring video produced by JDRF Australia featuring the story of Jeremy (@type_1_pilot) 🎥😎 — and yes, that's the PANCREAS co-pilot tee he's wearing.

Jeremy's story is a good one. He was flying for Qantas when he was diagnosed with type 1 in 2010 — told to hand back his licence there and then, in uniform, weeks before his wedding. At the time, a T1D diagnosis simply ended a commercial flying career. So he rebuilt: retrained as a medical doctor, kept flying small aircraft where he was allowed, and eventually became the first person with type 1 diabetes in Australia to earn a Class 1 medical clearance from the aviation regulator — putting him back in a commercial cockpit.

The “co-pilot” tee lands differently once you know that. Diabetes rides along in the cockpit with him now, instead of keeping him out of it — which is the whole idea behind the Pancreas CO-PILOT design. Exactly the kind of thing this brand is here for.
