🎬 I'm excited and honoured to have created this animation with @mygenteel 🙃
I wish I have had this lancing device when I was first diagnosed! Hope you enjoy it as much as I did doing it 🖍🎨
Genteel is a vacuum-assisted lancing device designed to make blood sugar testing virtually painless — and crucially, it works on alternate sites, not just fingertips. For children newly diagnosed, and for anyone doing thousands of finger pricks a year, that's not a gimmick. It's the difference between testing and avoiding testing. I meant it when I said I wish I'd had one in 1997.
The animation was built the traditional way: storyboard first, frame by frame — you can see the original storyboard below the video. Animating a medical device as a friendly character rather than a clinical product is the whole Diabetic Survivor thesis in 30 seconds.
